I read an article about "Generation Y" people being incapable of sticking to one profession right out of college as it was in my parents' generation. It's called being bored.

I'm a big believer in not getting overwhelmed with how we got to our present situation, but focusing on what makes the most sense going forward, and doing it. Thtas where my strengths lie and what keeps things fresh for me: finding problems and solving them.
