Daniela is a musician and a librarian. After graduating with a BMus in piano performance from Universidad Micahoacana in Morelia, Mexico, Daniela moved to Canada to pursue her passion for early music. She earned her Master of Music degree in Harpsichord Performance and Musicology at the University of Western Ontario (UWO). Her thesis titled : “Selected Concerted Vocal Compositions of the Eighteenth Century Preserved in Morelia, Mich. Mexico” was concerned with the analysis, cataloguing, and transcriptions of 18th century music manuscripts located in a musical archive in Mexico . A selection of the transcribed works was premiered in a concert at UWO. During her thesis research work in the archive, Daniela discovered the archival profession and the information sciences. This experience attracted her to the field of Information sciences and found it fascinating! Today, Daniela holds a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) from McGill University. She is currently working as librarian at Laval University in Quebec city. She is also exploring the latin music for piano with the group Latin Divas.
