Daniel Granovetter
Daniel Granovetter was born in New York, New York, and grew up in upstate New York, and Netanya and Yerushalayim in Israel.
He has had a love for good stories as long back as he can remember.
Throughout his childhood, he looked forward to visits from his Grandma, who would take him out on long walks, and hikes, and tell him fascinating adventure stories.
He started his career in authoring books at about age five – when he would draw all kinds of pictures on construction paper which he would staple together and ask his baby-sitter to "read" for him. He was delighted when the baby-sitter "read" these funny stories he had "written."
He also loved to draw, and for much of his childhood dreamed of growing up to be an artist.
Throughout all of school, Daniel loved reading and writing. Especially writing!
At age twelve, Daniel was inspired by family friends to take up learning to juggle, and got hooked, and decided to keep practicing until he became a professional.
As a teenager, Daniel volunteered in hospitals in Yerushalayim entertaining sick children, and also did seasonal shows for local Chabad children's programs.
For a number of years, he wrote a series of adventure stories in continuations for the Lubavich Children's Magazine of Ramat Shlomo, Yerushalayim.
Upon returning to the States, Daniel entered the field of special education and has taught special-needs children of all ages. When working in a prominent school in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, he was the story teller to the children during lunch – and his Chassidic adventure stories in continuations were a big hit among the students, giving him the inspiration to start a brand new series of Chassidic books for children (well, really, for all ages!) – Chassidic Adventure Classics!
