Business Owner, Project Manager, and Father in Auckland, New Zealand
I am a business owner, project manager, and father living in Auckland, New Zealand. My interests range from entrepreneurship in business to camping with family and friends. I am also interested in coffee, travel, and technology.
I am a Christian and active member of City Impact Church, and volunteer in Kid's Church helping inspire the kids to be all that they can be.
In regard to my career, I have worked 10 years in building supplies of which the latter 5 years was as a company representative selling building materials including Pre-nail frames and trusses etc to builders. One of the aspects of this job was that I was able to offer cost effective alternative solutions to help my builders do a great job for their clients.
I was then approached by one of my construction company clients to come and help coordinate their multiple high-end builds as they were expanding their business. This role was fairly similar to what I do today as it involved coordinating multiple sub-trades and material supply and also pricing variations to our full contract jobs.
After this I became more involved in the office and management of the construction company. Then with a concrete cutting and drilling business and another building and development business, of which both were for a new owner that took over the construction company I was working for.
At this stage I was also working part time for a church that I was a member of in Warkworth.
While working for the church I ended up juggling a few part-time roles doing admin work, church work and also doing handyman work which involved installing insulation, gardening, painting, building chicken coops, fences and then as a hammer hand for a builder working on building a couple of houses.
I then decided to look elsewhere for full-time work and got a commercial sales role for Atlas Concrete. After being in this role for 14 months I applied and was promoted to Depot Manager looking after the Takapuna concrete plant and store for Atlas Concrete. I stayed in this role for 3 years before deciding to buy the Maintain To Profit Auckland Central business doing property maintenance and renovations.
The business purchase was a “no-brainer” for me as it was a great fit with all my previous experience in the building and construction industry. The Maintain To Profit business was a great stepping stone to the current business I have recently purchased - Goldline Construction.
As of 16th January 2019 I am now the proud owner of Goldline Construction.
