In May 2015, Daniel Hewes graduated from the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation with an MS in urban planning. He has supplemented his education with various professional development endeavors, such as completing a fellowship and serving as a program coordinator at the Boston Public Health Commission. While pursuing his undergraduate degree at Northeastern University, Daniel Hewes assisted with a number of research initiatives at the Sustainable Performance Institute in Boston.
Further preparing for his career, Mr. Hewes has aligned with the American Planning Association. His professional interests include urban sustainability and climate change.
Daniel Hewes additionally maintains an active role in local charity and nonprofit causes. He has contributed to the Salvation Army and Relay for Life, and he has adopted three pets from rescue shelters. An advocate for the arts, he is a supporting member of the Municipal Arts Foundation and the Museum of Modern Art.
