Daniel Jafari is an emergency physician and surgical critical care specialist working at the North Shore University Hospital. He holds faculty appointments with the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Surgery as an Associate Professor. He is the Associate Program Director of Surgical Critical Care fellowship. He also holds a faculty appointment as Assistant Professor at Institute of Health System Science at Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research. Dr. Jafari is an alumnus of Iran University of Medical Sciences and Imperial College London. He completed his residency and fellowship at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania.

His research interest focus is video-review based research of outcomes of cardiac arrest and trauma team performance, and the emerging field of artificial intelligence, in particular vision AI in automating data collection and analysis of critical events.

In his free time, he enjoys reading, biking, running, and different cuisines. He is a lifelong supporter of the Juventus soccer team, and an amateur mixologist.
