Backed by more than seven years as a professional correctional registered nurse, Daniel Joe Thomas recently earned his credential as a certified correctional health professional (CCHP). He also holds a bachelor of arts double major in telcommunications and East Asian Studies and bachelor of science in nursing (BSN). Daniel Joe Thomas, RN, began nursing in the early 2000s, having worked his way through nursing school alongside his wife.
Mr. Thomas met his wife, Barbara, when the two were enlisted in the United States Navy. They married in uniform and raised three daughters while studying toward their professional degrees. Since that time, he has served as an RN to correctional facilities across the United States. He most recently cared for inmates at Smith Correctional Facility and Robert Presley Detention Center, both in California. Dedicated to the comprehensive care of these patients, he continues to advance his professional knowledge through membership in the American Nurses Association, the American Correctional Association, and the American Correctional Health Services Association.
An avid traveler, Daniel Joe Thomas enjoys visiting such historic sites as Hearst Castle and Mission San Luis Obispo of California's Central Coast. In his home city of San Diego, California, he enjoys walking along the area's many waterfront pathways and viewing the Naval craft moored in the harbor. An animal lover, he also contributes his time and resources to organizations such as the San Diego Zoological Society.
