Daniel Koye
Daniel Koye was an established New Jersey based salon hairdresser when a chance meeting led him to a job on The Great White Way. A short list of his Broadway credits include Patti LuPone Gypsy, Book of Mormon, Follies, The Trip to Bountiful, Cinderella, Chicago, Spring Awakening, Jersey Boys, Rock of Ages, Big Fish, The Heiress, Leap of Faith, Curtains, Love Letters and Mary Poppins, among others.
Mr. Koye’s expert skills as a wig creator, cutter and stylist, coupled with his affable demeanor soon earned him a stellar reputation. Bejeweled styling tools became one of his trademarks. He extended his entertainment portfolio working on television shows such as Law & Order, Person of Interest, Blue Bloods, Royal Pains and Trip to Bountiful (A Lifetime Original Movie).
With a deep commitment to making theatrical and broadcast productions preserve their high standard of excellence, Mr. Koye began searching for professional hair products that would better serve his highly technical work. Unsatisfied with what he found, an idea began to brew. But it wasn’t until he was working on Broadway for the musical, Hair! that he took action on his plan. Mr. Koye started experimenting, networked and forged a relationship with a scientist that would help him develop a series or proprietary formulas.
The first product produced, The Control, became a performer’s favorite for its fast drying hold and control. Mr. Koye bejeweled the first cans and soon clients wanted personal samples for themselves. Like the stars, no two cans were alike. And like his trademark styling tools, these rhinestone encrusted cans became a calling card. It was then DKoye: The Product was born.
