I am driven by the excitement of discovery and the satisfaction that comes from solving a problem. As an MD-PhD candidate, I believe that the critical component of closing the loop between the bench and the bedside is the ability to take questions from my clinical practice and bring them back to the laboratory, uniting the macroscopic knowledge of a traditional medical education with a microscopic understanding of health and disease elicited by molecular and biochemical research.
