I am an Aurora, Ontario, Canada-based teacher who is interested in travel, fitness, and dance. I’m also a fan of movies and music.

I have completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at York University. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Education at Queen's University.

My understanding of education is that it forms the very essence of all our actions in society. Through receiving a respectable education, it translates into self-empowerment, which makes us strong enough to get through life in any given situation. Few professions shape the future the way that educators do. Education helps us realize our potential and qualities as human beings, and with education, our opportunities in society are endless. Through education, we have the power to develop the knowledge and skills that will benefit our lives now, and in the future.

My time and experiences spent with children has allowed me to recognize that an effective teacher must be able to provide their students with the opportunity to develop all forms of learning skills. These skills will allow them to become intrinsically motivated life long learners, who appreciate and enjoy the learning process.

I believe that passion, responsibility and organization are all important factors of being a great teacher. I have learned that employing effective classroom management strategies on a regular basis allows for a vibrant learning environment. This environment exemplifies and encourages positive behaviours, peer support, inclusion, equality and equity. Along with the developed skills and strengths that I currently possess, I believe that learning is an endless process, and I have a genuine aspiration to continue to learn and inspire students to achieve their fullest potential.

Students should know that as an educator I believe that working with others and collaborating ideas throughout the classroom is a great way to create an inclusive and inviting environment. As a past volunteer in the classroom, and teacher candidate, I have had the opportunity to understand that teaching is not limited to delivering only the curriculum, rather that teaching crashes through the four walls of the classroom.

It is my goal to exchange knowledge and experience with passion and commitment to the classroom. I aspire to be the kind of teacher that affects eternity, and influences the educational community in a positive, optimistic, and inspiring way.
