Danielle Kaliterna

An elementary school teacher with more than 20 years of experience, Danielle Kaliterna has served at Redding School of the Arts in California. Danielle Kaliterna began her career in the education field at the Shasta County Library, where she served as a tutorial supervisor. In this role, she trained volunteer tutors for an adult literacy program, where she assessed the reading levels of the participants.

In 1988, Danielle Kaliterna transitioned to a role as a fifth grade teacher at Manzanita Elementary School in Redding. In the following year, she went on to teach at Cypress Elementary School. During her time there, she taught second, fourth, and fifth grade classes, in addition to serving as a mentor, cooperating teacher, Just Say No advisor, and a "Redding School District social studies committee member. She also worked with the ACE Consortium social studies curriculum committee of San Jose Unified School District. In 1998, Danielle Kaliterna accepted another teaching role at Junction Elementary School in Palo Cedro, where she taught second grade.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Danielle Kaliterna participates in a number of community outreach programs and charities. Actively involved in Shasta County's Southeast Asian Christian Ministry, she serves as Secretary on its Board of Directors and supports the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and the National Park System. In her free time, Ms. Kaliterna enjoys spending time with her son, family and pets, reading and traveling, as well as outdoor activities such as kayaking.

In 1982, Ms. Kaliterna earned her Bachelor of Arts from Humboldt State University in Arcata. At the institution, she studied early childhood education and psychology. Five years later, she attended California State University, Chico. There, she earned her multiple subject teaching credential, allowing her to teach elementary education.
