Daniel Lipson

Hi there! If you've found this, it's probably in relation to a job opportunity. First off, welcome! Second, don't take this page too seriously; it's more of a loose biography so that I can tell you about myself and maybe brag just a little bit. If you'd prefer to stick to the serious, professional stuff, you can also check out my cool and interactive résumé at http://vizualize.me/DanielLipson (it's also linked at the bottom of the page under "vizualize me").

I'm a 23 year old from Winnipeg. I'm interested in financial markets, investing, marketing, the business side of sports, and a whole host of other stuff. I recently graduated from university with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree and major in finance. I studied mostly at the University of Manitoba but finished my studies at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, one of the top ranked universities in the world, and I ended up ended up staying in Asia for almost a year. Now I'm going to be taking the Canadian Securities Course, thinking about pursuing a CFA, and I'm looking for the right position and company to start my career with.

So what makes me cool? Or unique? I played poker professionally for a bit after graduating. That's cool. And I've always been pretty good at math, although that's usually considered less cool. I was a child chess prodigy too. Maybe I'm using "prodigy" loosely, but I was the provincial champion several times and quite good. I'm also into traveling, most sports but especially hockey, art, music (I play the guitar, piano and occasionally dabble in drums) and entrepreneurship. I'm a contributing author at Arctic Ice Hockey, which focuses on the statistical side of hockey. It's linked at the bottom of the page should that interest you. I'm also an avid snowboarder, swimmer, cycler, and a part-time unicorn breeder. They're majestic creatures. A bit difficult to tame, mind you, but I love the challenge. I also run every once in a while; I don't particularly like it but do it anyway since gaining weight and buying a new wardrobe would probably be really expensive and time consuming. Oh and because it's good for me. That too. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this, or at least learned a bit more about me aside from the stuffy résumé...umm..stuff.

P.S.

I figure you'll probably be checking out my social media pages anyway to make sure I'm not a creep or a criminal so I've conveniently linked them for you at the bottom of this page. Enjoy!
