I am an economist by training, and am focused on international development issues. Currently, I am working on issues of climate change and food security. I am also deeply interested on issues of education and human development, as well as the role of technology in development. My primary region of interest is South America. Although, much of my recent work has been focused on Africa and Asia.
I was born in Colombia, and have lived in Belgium, Bolivia, Guatemala, Spain, the United States, and Australia.
I am always looking for new experiences, and am an avid traveler, foodie, and history buff. I have traveled to more than 50 countries on 6 continents (only missing Antarctica). Currently, I am spending a lot of my free time exploring my new home country Australia.
