My name is Daniel Moncada and I have an identical twin brother named Cesar. He has been my best friend for my entire life and he is someone that I lean on for support and comfort. When people hear that we are identical twins, most of the time they don’t believe us. When we were younger, my twin brother and I looked the exact same however over the years our different interests and activities have caused us to be easily distinguishable from each other. While I focused on sports and fitness, he focused on music and drumming. This has caused me to stay in better shape than him and has led to our different appearances. While we may have been identical in appearance at one time, there have always been qualities that make us very different. My brother has always been outgoing and extroverted while I have always been more introverted and kept to myself. Subjects that come very naturally to me, like science and math, interest him as well but they were never as easy for him as they were for me.

There are also many things that make my brother and I quite similar. We both like the same types of food, music, TV shows, and movies. One interesting thing about my brother and I is that we are what some people refer to as “mirror twins”. There are some physical qualities that we mirror each other in. For example, my hair starts growing on the right side of my head, his hair grows from the left side. I am left handed and he is right handed. These qualities always seem to fascinate other people.

Since we have been together for our entire lives, my brother and I share a special bond. People always ask me if I enjoy being a twin. My answer is always yes. There is nothing like being a twin and I would never change that part of my life if I could. Because I have a twin, I always have someone there for me. Whether I need someone to practice soccer with or someone to just listen to my problems, my brother has always been that person that is there for me and every day I am thankful that I was blessed with an identical twin brother.
