I'm recognized as an expert in digital marketing and the search industry. Past speaking engagements include SMX East 2010, ILM 2010, Engage Digital Media 2011, and SMX Advanced: London, 2011. My research has been published in TechCrunch, the New York Times, Boston Herald, and USA Today, among other outlets. I have written for Website Magazine, Business Insider, and MediaPost's Online Media Daily.

I'm originally from St. Louis, and received my undergraduate degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Missouri - Columbia. I've lived in Japan on and off since 1999, as a student and as an ESL instructor. I moved to Boston in 2005 to pursue my MBA at Brandeis University. Upon graduation, I spent two years working as the marketing manager and de facto IT department for designer electronics boutique Mimoco, and was recruited to online ad network Chitika in the spring of 2009, where I ran the marketing department and established Chitika Research, which became Chitika Insights..

Some of my proudest accomplishments are my fluency in Japanese, my second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and my creation of Chitika Insights
