Daniel Saraga
Writer and Small Business Owner in Basel, Switzerland
I am the founder of Saraga Communications, a Swiss agency, specializing in science and policy communication. We work for universities, governments and companies in English, French and German.
I was previously Head of science communication at the Swiss National Science Foundation, the body supporting public research in Switzerland. I was editor-in-chief and manager of the Swiss research magazine Horizons, published in English, German and French, and the creator of the SNSF Scientific Image Competition.
I was managing editor of Technologist and Reflex and worked as a science journalist, wiring about the cost of nuclear power, the mirages of quantum computers, the traps of bitcoins and the too-good-to-be-true virtues of evidence-based policy. I have interviewed CEO and politicians, written portraits of SMEs and companies on the stockmarket.
I have also created science workshops for children, worked in a science fiction museum, and published 15 scientific papers in quantum physics.
