Daniel Scavone

New Jersey, United States

Daniel Scavone is a senior financial services executive from the Princeton, New Jersey area.
Dan’s job requires long and sometime stressful hours. “Dealing with people’s wealth, especially in difficult economic environments, is not always easy. It is tough to make time during the day to work out because my schedule can be so unpredictable.” As a result, Dan normally tries to get a few miles of roadwork every day before work. “It’s fast and easy and, by the time I would have to get to the gym, I am done.” Dan runs about 40 miles per week with an extra long run on Saturday’s and a rest day on Sunday. “As I get older, I look more forward to the rest day,” Daniel quipped.
To stay enthusiastic about getting up in the morning to run, especially on those cold or rainy days, Daniel normally schedules a road race every other month. “Just like in business it is important to have a goal. Training for a race helps me focus and helps past the time.
Running is in the blood of Daniel’s family as his older son Christopher was a star runner in high school and later ran varsity at Yale University. Both of his daughters ran competitively in school as well.
A few weeks ago Dan ran in a mud run which is a combination five mile run while treading through ponds, crawling through mud and climbing over assorted obstacles. “I may have to rethink doing that again,” Dan stated. I realied then that I am certainly not twenty anymore.
