Metro Detroit
I am an aspiring business woman. Having a background in writing, my career interests include both Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations. As a staff for Wylie E. Groves' high school newspaper, I was always very eager to learn the research, writing and story telling craft. I was also awarded Best News Reporter by the staff.
Being one of the top high schools in Michigan Groves H.S. helped prepare me for the communications curriculum at Western Michigan University. There, I have taken many Communications, Journalism and Public Relations courses that have helped me get more hands on experience and training. While attending, I founded a registered student organzation called Young Broadcasters of Tomorrow, a televised platform for campus and community news, I also interned at Detroit's WDIV Local 4 News where I created a DVD portfolio of practice standups, kickers and story packages.
I am currently working on independant broadcasting projects of my own and interning at GURU Public Relations, Events and Concierge.
While deciding between the two career paths, I am networking and studying to develop the essential skills for success. I hope to one day become an entertainment reporter for one of the top enterntainment broadcasting networks or a successful publicist.
