Mr. Straus' other health care holdings include, Ascend Concierge Home Care, Ascend Home Health, Ascend Hospice, Care Realty, Care Missouri, CareVirginia, HealthBridge Management, and Partners Pharmacy.

In addition, Mr. Straus manages an office that invests in hedge funds, private equity and real estate. Formerly, Mr. Straus was the primary stockholder, president and Co-CEO of The Multicare Companies, Inc., which was sold in 1997. Prior to that, Mr. Straus was an attorney with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York City.

Mr. Straus holds an A.B. in political science from Columbia University and a J.D. from New York University. Mr. Straus is active in several non-profit and philanthropic endeavors, which include spearheading multiple fundraising campaigns which raised a total of more than $3 million to support both charitable organizations and CareOne employees.
