Daniel Wein
Washington, DC
When I moved to Washington in 2010 to begin my undergraduate education at George Washington University, I set out on the mission to work within every industry that I had even the utmost curiosity about.
Four years later I accomplished my goal, having built up a variety of communication and project management skills working within Congress, startups, lobbying, issue and political advocacy campaigns, public relations, and digital strategy. I founded my own non-profit advocacy organization, and moved to Australia for six months to continue its growth while simultaneously working on a local political campaign, where I was part of the team that helped to elect the first openly gay member of New South Wales Parliament in history.
As I make the full transition out of academia into the workplace in May, I'm looking to find a challenging opportunity at an organization that will allow me to be surrounded by smart, entrepreneurial, and driven colleagues.
As the result of my digital and political advocacy, I have been featured on Fox News, NBC News, BBC World Service, NPR, The Today Show, Al Jazeera America, Mashable, USA Today, RealClearPolitics, Sydney Morning Herald, Metro Weekly, and the Huffington Post.
Some personal highlights include hosting a political commentary show on BBC World Service regarding President Obama's speech on Syria; speaking to a State Department group of international NGO leaders on successfully leveraging social media to reach youth; and being interviewed by Fox News' Greta Van Susteren as part of a student panel discussing the 2012 presidential election.
