Daniyar Zhanbekov stands out as an accomplished entrepreneur whose career spans the fields of investment banking, private equity, media, and film. Originating from Kazakhstan, his professional journey led him to the United States for advanced education and significant career opportunities before drawing him back to his roots, where he continued to expand his ventures and influence.

Daniyar's academic journey was kickstarted with the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship he received as a high school senior. This scholarship enabled him to study in the United States, recognizing his potential for significant future societal contributions. He upheld this expectation by earning the All-USA Academic Team award, reflecting his commitment to academic excellence and leadership beyond the confines of the classroom.

He pursued higher education at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, a premier institution known for its rigorous engineering programs. Here, Daniyar excelled and, upon graduation, secured a position at Bain & Company, a leading global management consulting firm. His ambition soon led him to Wall Street, where he joined the ranks of Lehman Brothers, explicitly working within their Technology Media and Telecom group across New York and London.

In 2007, Daniyar returned to Kazakhstan and joined Renaissance Capital. His expertise quickly translated into significant professional achievements, leading to rapid promotions and success. He later ventured into private equity, becoming the Director of Investments at a major firm where he managed high-profile telecom and retail deals. Additionally, he established the Kazakhstan Hong Development Fund, a $400 million venture that brought together significant investors from Hong Kong and the Kazakh government.

Expanding his portfolio, Daniyar Zhanbekov founded Arai Media and Arai Production, transforming it into a leading producer of private TV content in Kazakhstan. After selling this business, he acquired Basel Insurance and engaged in a fruitful partnership with Everest Capital Management, focusing on real estate development in Almaty. As of 2021, he is the principal shareholder of Basel Insurance, lauded by S&P Global Ratings for its solid financial practices and expansion strategies.
