Dan currently works for the Hagerman Municipal School district. Hired in 1996, he currently is the Technology, Data and Testing Coordinator. In the classrom, Dan has taught Introduction to Engineering, Principles of Engineering, and Introduction to Architecture. Because of the Early College program that he championed, over 60 students each semester have particpated in dual credit college classes since 2007.
In addition to the school district, Dan also works at the Roswell Correctional Center as an instuctor and the post-secondary program facilitator. His building trades class has partnered with Artesia Habitat for Humanity and helped provide three homes for families while helping the incarcerated gain skills and reduce recidivism. Dan was elected to the Artesia Habitat for Humanity board.
He is the founder and executive director of HagermanForward. The organization was established in 2010 as a 501(c)(3) chairtable non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of life in Hagerman, NM.
The Chaves County School Employees Credit Union elected Dan as a Board member to serve a one-year term beginning January 2012. He was then voted to vice-president and now holds the office of president.
