I'm keenly interested in architecture: the thoughtful making of space and place.
My job encompasses arranging things in information space: planning, strategy and architecture for complex information systems.
I like coffee an awful lot, and teach information architecture at the University of Michigan School of Information.
My research is focused on applying the teachings of Richard Saul Wurman and Christopher Alexander in digital practice.
In April 2018, I completed a 2-year term as President of the Information Architecture Institute.
