Danner Darcleight
Danner Darcleight is beginning his fifteenth year in a maximum-security prison (on a 25 to life sentence). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, which he started as a traditional university student, and completed from his prison cell.
Danner's work most recently appears in Fourth City: Essays from the Prison in America, a first-of-its kind collection of contemporary essays written by incarcerated men and women from around the country. Fourth City, edited by Doran Larson, was published by Michigan State University Press in February 2014.
Essays of Danner's have appeard in Stone Canoe, the minnesota review, and Kenyon Review. Some of his artwork and writing can be found at dannerdarcleight.tumblr.com.
His memoir, a book-length window into the American prison experience, will be published by the Permanent Press in 2016.
