An honors graduate of California State University, Fresno, Danny Ashley holds a bachelor of science in biology with a minor in physical science. During his time as an undergraduate, Daniel “Danny” Ashley was named a Fresno State Smittcamp Family Honors College President's Scholar and a Top Dog Scholar, in addition to earning Honorary Member status in the Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society. He completed the school’s two-year master of public administration program in just one year.

Daniel Ashley has held leadership positions such as vice president of community service with the Sigma Alpha Lambda fraternity, in which role he organized a March for Babies event to raise funds for the March of Dimes. From 2017 to 2018, Mr. Ashley served as a certified medical scribe specialist (CMSS) at Fresno Community Regional Medical Center. In addition to assisting physicians in the emergency department, he helped at community health events such as the Migrant Education Fair, which provided essential health screenings for migrant workers. In 2018, he received his certification as an emergency medical technician (EMT). Outside of work, Mr. Ashley enjoys outdoor activities including hiking and skiing.
