Dr. Daniel "Danny" Ashley is an internal medicine resident physician at Yale New Haven Hospital / Yale University School of Medicine, having completed a preliminary year in internal medicine at the University of Louisville (UofL Health), with a clinical and academic interest in dermatology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Queensland – Ochsner Clinical School in 2024, and holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA), completed in one year with distinction, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology from California State University, Fresno.

Dr. Daniel Ashley is an active researcher whose interests span dermatology—including melanoma, pediatric dermatology, and epidermolysis bullosa—as well as public health and health policy. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts, and national and international presentations, and serves as a Medical Education and Continuing Medical Education (CME) Research Fellow with the AIM at Melanoma Foundation.

He founded and led the Dermatology Student Interest Group at the University of Queensland – Ochsner Clinical School, and remains active in resident leadership at Yale as well as nationally with the American Physician Scientists Association (APSA) and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS).

Danny Ashley previously held leadership roles such as vice president of community service with the Sigma Alpha Lambda fraternity, where he organized a March for Babies fundraiser for the March of Dimes. From 2017 to 2019, he worked as a Certified Medical Scribe Specialist (CMSS) in the emergency department at UCSF Fresno and Community Regional Medical Center, and participated in outreach efforts such as the Migrant Education Fair, providing health screenings to underserved communities. He earned his Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification in 2018. Outside of medicine, Danny enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing and hiking.
