After 35 years in public education, I have turned to consulting with school districts and writing fiction. I have been fortunate to have three short stories recognized for excellence: "Cake Takers" and "Gladrags" which won Honorable Mention (2006) and 2nd Place (2007) awarded by the West Side Story Contest out of San Francisco, respectively; and "Unbidden," which won 1st Prize in 2011 awarded by the Hackney Literary Prize out of Birmingham. Now I'm working on book length projects such as a sequel to Clinch River Pearls titled Pellissippi Ghosts, to be released in late 2016.
