Dan Parham is Head of Product at Nextdoor, currently working on a research and development initiative. Over the past three years at Nextdoor, he has had led product management for Organizations (Small Businesses and Public Agencies), and served as a General Manager for the Public Agency team. Millions of people rely on Nextdoor as a trusted source of information, services, and connections in 11 countries. Nearly 1 in 3 households in the U.S. use Nextdoor to give and get help, get things done, and build real world connections with those nearby.

In 2010, Dan co-founded Neighborland, a communications platform that empowers government agencies, real estate developers, and civic organizations to collaborate with the public in an accessible, participatory, and equitable way. As a social enterprise, Neighborland has worked with over 200 government agencies, universities, foundations, and nonprofits across the U.S. and Canada. Over 3,000,000 residents participated on Neighborland, and these projects have yielded over $3 billion in social and economic impact. Neighborland was acquired by Nextdoor in September of 2019.

Previously, Dan was a Director of User Experience at Yahoo, working for the Marketplaces and Advertising Platform teams. He led product research and design teams across offices in Silicon Valley, New York, and Los Angeles.

Dan serves as an advisor on civic engagement technology for the Obama Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, and Terner Center for Housing Innovation at UC Berkeley. He has also mentored government technology startups at Matter, Hangar, and Code for America, including GetCalFresh.org.

Dan has presented his experience with the practice of civic engagement at the White House, Smart Cities World Congress, American Institute of Architects, Stanford University Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society, University of California Berkeley College of Environmental Design, and SPUR.
