Dan Simerman

I’ve always considered myself an extremely energetic, creative, forward thinking entrepreneur. I love helping people discover their own potential, and constantly work on projects that enable me, as well as others, to reach their highest possible achievements. In high school, I founded our cities first youth film festival to create a platform for young film makers to show their work. After taking an interest in guerrilla marketing freshman year of college, a friend proposed that we start our own firm and search for potential clients. The summer of sophomore year brought me in contact with the Personal Democracy Forum. I took on the role of digital marketing intern and supervised our PR activities with various political and technology news organizations. Exhilarated by the experience, I took my recent knowledge and built a small consulting practice out of my understanding of current digital and social marketing trends to help small businesses stay ahead of the digital curve. Junior year I became obsessed with Electronic Music. I reached out to Webster Hall in New York City, made friends with the photographers on stage, and created an electronic web magazine to bring together music lovers of the east coast, as well as help my new found DJ friends build exposure for themselves locally. My last effort involved an attempt to change the digital distribution business model with a project named musicguerrilla.com. Interspersed between all of this, I actively participated in my college’s venture capital organization, surveyed new start-up companies on my blog (www.peercasters.wordpress.com), and volunteered with YoungStartup Ventures to assist their early stage and emerging growth technology, life sciences and clean tech investment conferences held in New York and New England.
