To be a visionary is to see things in a different light. It's to take your future in to your own hands and plan with imagination and wisdom. Daquana White is a visionary.

Miss White is a rising senior at North Carolina Central University. She is an art major with a focus in Visual Communications Design. Miss White works as an artist, custom designer, fashion blogger and marketer.

At the young age of 21, Daquana understands that failure is a part of any success story. She isn't discouraged by criticism or slow-moving success. At the age of 19, she was ready to pursue owning a small business. She is willing to learn and open-minded to many opportunities. She doesn't believe that people have to be confined to just one study or talent. She believes that in order to succeed in anything that you must be authentic and genuine in everything you do. Daquana advocates for self-love, perseverance and confidence in one's self to achieve anything foreseen.

"Don't go to school for art, artists don't make any money," critics said. Daquana believes when you have a passion, money isn't always the motivator. To be an artist isn't just to draw, paint or sculpt. To be an artist is to express anything you do creatively. To be an artist is to heal the wounds of those who can't heal themselves, or to open the minds of those who have tunnel vision. If you love something and persevere, success will be achieved. Daquana will continue to strive to be better than she was yesterday. She aspires to inspire.
