Darain Shahidi

Award winning journalist and a TV Presenter with a career spanning over more than two decades.

I started my career with All India Radio in 1992 and switched over to TV journalism the very next year. In 1993, I joinedBITV, India’s first private News and Current affairs channel.1996 joined BBC when they started a half an hour show in Hindi on Home TV (Hindustan Times Group). After a great stint at the BBC, I got an offer fromAAJ TAKto anchor news for their Election coverage in 1998, produced from Doordarshan's CPC. I continued my journey as a TV professional and joined NDTV- STAR News where, apart from anchoring prime time News, I ideated and produced a number of mainstream news shows. Also anchored a one on one talk show Sawaal Aapke on a regular basis, where I interviewed political leader, filmakers, Actors, Cricket players etc.

In the year 2000 I moved to STAR SPORTSSingapore as an anchor-producer of most popular Sports Program, “Sports Center”. I was also involved with Live Cricket production team and also did commentary for major Hockey and Cricket tournaments. Also anchored the first edition of Premier Hockey League live from Hyderabad in 2004 for ESPN Star Sports and anchored and scripted the first ever talent hunt on Indian Sports TV ‘DREAMJOB’ For STAR SPORTS.
