Deborah Darbonne

Educational Leader

I have dedicated over 30 years to the field of education, focusing on closing the achievement gap and advocating for social justice. as a teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal. My leadership in transforming low-performing Title I schools has been marked by significant improvements in student performance through data-driven instruction, targeted interventions, and comprehensive professional development for teachers.

Currently, I am leading several innovative projects, including the integration of technology for personalized learning and the development of a robust social-emotional learning (SEL) program. Known as the “Leader of Learners,” I emphasize teacher empowerment and foster a collaborative school culture. My efforts extend beyond academics, forming partnerships with local organizations to provide additional resources for students and their families. My commitment to educational equity and excellence ensures that all students, regardless of their background, have access to quality education and opportunities for success.

As an educator who “walks the talk,” I create environments where students, teachers, staff, and the community feel proud, committed, and connected.

My interests range from fashion to dance. I am also interested in volunteering, causes, and education.
