My top 5 StrengthsQuest Strengths are: Competition, Harmony, Achiever, Deliberative and Focus. It was not a big surprise to me that Competition was my number one strength because for a long time I have judged myself against others and their achievements and when you good people always try and bring you down to their level so it becomes a battle to stay at the top. I believe I have it very much under control though and am not much of a sore loser at all. I will not make excuses when I know I have been beaten but I will never go into a competition thinking I will lose I always picture myself winning. Harmony being my second Strength is very appropraiate as I tend to avoid forms of conflict if I can and I will not often tell someone if they are a bad human being even if they are. This definitely is a beneficial strength to have as it means most people will have a positive view on me.

Time Management Activities
In class one of the tasks we undertook was a time management activity intended to firstly investigate how we chew up time each week and then to build study plans around this. The first step was recording our activities hour by hour for a whole 7 days. Once we have this in front of us we were able to see the amount of time we had that we could utilize for study purposes. From this we made a fixed commitments schedule which outlined everything in our week that cannot be moved so classes and sporting practices as two common examples. Once we had this we outlined how we intended to spend the hours around that whether it be with study/eating/leisure time. I found this activity very helpful to build my study schedule coming into the final examinations and also keep myself more accountable with how I spend my free time throughout the week.

First Year Success Series

The First Year Success Series sessions, were a wide range of informative and discussion based lectures/activities that are for first year students. They are designed to help in the transition form high school to college and just generally provide information to students about college life. You were required to go to a minimum of four sessions and I found that I learnt something from all of my sessions. They definitively have left me better prepared to take on my years at college then when I first arrived here. For instance one of my sessions was called "Relaxation Station" and in it we learnt about how to deal with stress and stay relaxed when things are busy in college.
