Dario Napoli
ICT Responsible, IT security officer, and Project Manager in Roma, Italia
Since june 2019 I have been working as ICT responsible at “Commissione Garanzia Sciopero", an independent national Authority. Before I have been employed for more than 8 years at the Italian Revenue Agency as IT security officer taking care of internal IT security issues and running projects aimed at developing new software applications both for internal and external customers. In these 12 years I gained a good knowledge of the public sector and had the chance to broaden my competences learning a lot both in the ICT and in the administrative areas.
Previously I worked at Ericsson, indisputably one of the best telecommunications company in the world. In my Ericsson career I have been in charge of different roles, strictly technical, in the early days as:
tester, responsible for the testing phases of telecommunications real-time software releases both internal and at customer premises and for the first live implementation onsite;
support engineer providing both first and second level support to the customer with 24/7 on-call responsibility;
and, then, gaining experience and competences, much more involving different strong and soft skills, as:
technical coordinator, responsible for managing technical activities of project teams (time schedule, priorities, troubleshooting, faults tracking, follow-up and resolution) in close cooperation with the project manager and the support team at the product unit headquarter;
customer project manager, responsible for managing project teams and to secure project goals, setting, managing and controlling time plans, costs and margins, overall budgets and deadlines.
In my Ericsson experience I gained a broad knowledge of the telecommunications world both of the radio and the packet core networks having been working there for 13 years. I think I really gave a lot but, at the same time, I owe to Ericsson a big thank you for having offered me a job in a dynamic, diverse and international environment where you continuously grow both professionally and as human being. In fact, working with people coming from different countries and travelling around the world have been invaluable benefits.
