Darnell is an Seattle-based award-winning entrepreneur recognized by the British Airways Face of Opportunity Entrepreneur Contest for her work with a company she founded in 2007 called Girl Power Hour.

This accolade led her on a trip around the world with some of the brightest individuals in the startup world.

Apart from a long career in marketing, events and social media in TV, Radio, Print Media, Consumer Goods and as a business owner and entrepreneuer working with some of the world's leading media hubs, agencies and brands, Darnell also partnered with Glamour Magazine to help shape and participate in the first ever company influencer program called The Glambassadors for 8 years.

She also blogged for the Seattle PI as a lifestyle blogger under the pseudonym Girl About Town from 2007-2015, edited a popular newsletter distributed to over 100K called Seattle Spin Girl, was knighted by the Seafair organization as the Goddess of Girl Power & Glam for her extensive work with local non-profits supporting women and was subsequently named "Queen of Networking" after being cast in a national online web series by MSN.com called the re:discover project sponsored by Buick.

Darnell is also known for founding Girl Power Hour, a start up focused on building community for women and brands looking to connect with them via networking events, sponsorship, partnership, vendors, mentorship, membership, unique blogger content and more.

Girl Power Hour was on a 4 year hiatus until the presidential election in 2016 which inspired her to restart it as a side-hustle to lift up and empower women who want to make a difference.

Darnell graduated from the Carson School of Business at Washington State University with a double major in Marketing and International Business where she also spent time studying in London, England at the American Intercontinental University and mentored students upon their return from studying abroad at WSU.

Apart from planning community-building networking events for women, she also does small business consulting, is active in the YWCA and is an avid road-tripper.
