Daron Anderson

Seattle, WA

Daron Anderson recently graduated from the University of Washington (UW) with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Political Science. Daron just returned from studying abroad in Rome, where she studied communication patterns and how it intersects with culture in Italy.

Most recently, Daron was employed as a Marketing and Communications Intern at the University of Washington School of Law. At the law school, she worked on increasing prospective student interests by producing promotional and information videos like the student video series titled “The UW Law Experience”. Daron also regularly drafted press releases, news articles and feature articles for the law schools alumni magazine, UWLaw. In addition, at the school, Daron executed the Alumnus of the Month program, which recognizes promienent UW Law alumni.

Daron held various other internships, including interning with Nordstrom in their Retail Management program last summer, where she gained experience in team management. Daron has also interned as a Fashion Marketing Intern at Butch Blum, a high-end boutique in Downtown Seattle.

In addition to interning with Nordstrom, Daron also previously worked in sales and support at Nordstrom since 2008. She was spent a year as the Administration Beat Reporter at The Daily of the University of Washington.

During her time at the UW, Daron served as the Marketing Coordinator for the UW Student Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. She has also maintained a position on the UW Dean’s List, ending her college career with a 3.71 GPA.

In 2011 and 2012, Daron received The Seattle Times’ Blethen Award and Scholarship and in 2012, she received the Northwest Asian Weekly Award and Scholarship.

Daron is proficient in social media, copy-editing, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, Associated Press Style and intermediate video and audio-editing. Her work has been published in the Issaquah Press,
