Darrell B Howell

Darrell Howell is a finance and operations executive and the Founder & CEO of RoofIntel, an independent property decision platform beginning with residential roofing. He also founded ScaleSmart Advisory, where he provides CFO and operating support to privately held businesses. Previously, he served as CFO of Bluebird Roofing and in consulting finance leadership at CLA. His earlier finance and operations work spans construction, real estate, distribution, service businesses, insurance, and multi-unit operations.

From January 2015 to August 2021, he provided CFO, controllership, and finance and operations leadership to privately held businesses across construction, real estate, distribution, and service industries. He began in an independent advisory capacity and later moved into an embedded corporate finance leadership role with a privately held construction and real estate group. He led financial reporting, forecasting, cash management, budgeting, audit oversight, collections, and process improvement. In the embedded leadership role, he directed finance and accounting across three related entities, managed a team of eight, and oversaw approximately $40 million in budgets.

His areas of expertise include cash flow forecasting, working capital, financial reporting, budgeting, profitability, risk management, and operational decisions.
