Darren Kerr is the Head of Film & Digital Arts and the Strategic Lead for research in the School of Media Arts and Technology at Solent University, Southampton, UK. He is co-editor of Hard to Swallow: Hard-core Pornography on Screen (2012), Tainted Love: Screening Sexual Perversions (2017) and is a member of the editorial board for Routledge’s Porn Studies journal.

His research interests and publications focus on sex on screen, gothic horror and literary adaptation. He is also the co-curator of the academic blog screeningsex.com which explores sexual culture across film, television and the media. Darren is co-convenor of the Screening Sex scholarly interest group for the British Association of Film, Television and Screen Studies.
