Darrien Rice

Darrien Rice went to college on probation with more questions than answers about his future. He was admitted to Oakland University through a summer bridge program for first generation students. Not only did the program set Darrien up for success as a college student, it inspired him to pay it forward by dedicating his professional life to college students. Since beginning his higher education career in 2003, he has worked in admissions, academic advising and residential life as a mentor, a trainer and an advocate at Oakland University, University of Texas San Antonio, Saint Mary’s College of California. He is currently He holds a Master of Arts degree in training and development from Oakland University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Development.
Darrien has a Master in Training and Development from Oakland University and has advised hundreds of students while working in Undergraduate Admissions at Oakland University and the College of Liberal & Fine Arts Advising Center at University of Texas at San Antonio.
Darrien is currently enrolled in the College Admissions and Career Planning Certificate Program at UC Berkeley. Darrien plans to coach and mentor students and their families throughout the search, application, and decision-making process. He is a member of the Western Association for College Admission Counseling (WACAC) and Western Association of College and University Housing Officers (WACUHO).
