I'm older than I look! I've been working & learning for over 35 years now ...
> kicked off the e-business transformation at Publicis Group in the 1990s, helping to win huge new accounts & grow major client accounts through "AdNET" proprietary software
> co-founded some startups, including a UK top 5 digital agency in 1997 (acquired by Fi System in 2001)
> made Angel investments, including Fresca (acquired by BT Group in 2008) & Net-A-Porter (acquired by Richemont in 2010)
> worked as an e-business specialist within private equity on company turnarounds & value creation (e.g. PRG Powerhouse for Cullen Investments, The Entertainer for Abraaj Capital)
> helped build & grow tech start-ups
> joined investment consultancy Bean Partners to help early-stage companies navigate the credit crunch
After delivering gazillions of e-commerce solutions (large & small), internet banking & other e-business projects, I decided to focus on mobile - obviously the next big thing!
The best way to learn more about mobile? Work at one of the world's best app developers, Future Workshops.
After that, I set up AppsArabia in the desert, investing Abu Dhabi government money to create a mobile app development industry in UAE & throughout the MENA region.
I settled in Dubai, initially providing e-business & technology consulting services for select clients, including Abraaj Capital & its portfolio co's.
I led the digital transformation as CIO & investor at The Entertainer for over 8 years (acquired in 2018).
I co-founded Timbl, a fast payment & data specialist (acquired in 2023).
I co-founded mimojo, the awesome cashback app that uses card linked tech.
I’m currently leading product, tech & procurement ops at Nomia, the rapid growth tail end procurement platform.
I love wakeboarding & wakesurfing. I'm trying to get better ... despite my knees getting worse!
