Daniel Sousa

José Daniel Sousa Oliva has a Masters in Management and Public Policy from the University of Chile. He graduated with Highest Distinction.

He has been a researcher associate of the Center for Public Systems at the University of Chile specialising in themes of transparency and personal data protection, research associate at the Chile XXI Foundation, and has assisted in doing research for the Quality of Democracy in Chile project along with Dr. María de los Ángeles Fernández in the Network for the Quality of Democracy in Latin America. This research is directed by Leonardo Morlino.

His research interests are quality of democracy, transparency, information access, and implementation of public policies.

In terms of public service, he has worked at the Office of Political Development, Ministry of Economic Development, and Ministry of Finances and Planning for the Government of Veracruz. He has worked at Milenio Journal.

He has taught a Public Policy Seminar at the undergraduate level at the College of Veracruz; Political Analysis and Public Management at the Popular Autonomous University of Veracruz and Public Policy at Anáhuac University.

As a speaker, he participated in the Chilean Political Society Congress in Santiago de Chile, 2010.

Daniel was the general coordinator of the 2nd International Congress of Evaluation and Public Policies (www.congresoevaluacion.com), celebrated in Xalapa, Veracruz, México, July 11,12 and 13, 2012.

Recently, he was the general coordinator of the Cátedra Mexicana Guillermo O´Donnell, celebrated in Xalapa , Veracruz. México, april, 28,29 and 30, 2014.

At the present time, he is Executive Information Systems Manager at El Colegio de Veracruz and assists in the Network for the Quality of Democracy in Mexico.
