A longtime leader in higher education administration, David (Dave) Behrs holds a bachelor’s degree in history and social sciences from Elizabethtown College, a master’s in counseling from Shippensburg University, and a PhD in counseling and student development from American University. Additionally, Dave Behrs is currently pursuing a master of divinity at San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, California, where he serves as vice president for enrollment management.
Dave Behrs began his distinguished career in higher education as a counselor before accepting a position as the associate director of admissions for Elizabethtown College in 1984. After leading several initiatives that increased enrollment by 74 percent, he joined Pennsylvania State University, Harrisburg as director of admissions in 1987. During his time with the school, he increased applications by nearly a quarter while co-chairing the campus judicial review panel.
Over the next three decades, David Behrs went on to hold executive leadership positions with multiple institutions of higher education around the country, including Clarion University of Pennsylvania and Dominican University of California. He draws upon this experience in his current position with the San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, where he guides social media and other marketing efforts to boost applications and enrollment. Since joining the school, he has increased applications by 25 percent while nearly doubling the number of student leads.
