I'm a writer, editor, manager and event host with over 25 years of experience. I specialise in the entertainment, games, science fiction and home computing sectors.

My current role is COO of Steel Media, working closely with the editorial, marketing and event teams. Our biggest brand is Pocket Gamer, which is dedicated to the mobile games scene and includes b2b and b2c websites and events. Why not attend our next games industry conference? In my career, I have written for and edited market-leading publications like SFX magazine. My résumé includes home computing publications such as Planet PC and the official Microsoft Windows magazine. I oversaw Future's wider entertainment portfolio, including the magazines SFX, Total Film, Comic Heroes and Crime Scene.

Over the years, I have provided freelance consultancy and content work across the industry. I've helped Dialect promote Amazon tech services to developers, for instance, and contributed publishing advice to That Media Thing.

You'll find my reviews and interviews in places like Crime Fiction Lover and also SFX magazine to this day. There are in-depth features I've written about movie filming locations in the beautiful Screen Traveller's Guide, available now from DK Eyewitness. I'm currently researching a reference book with Kelly Vero, and I am the curator of the weekly AI Gamechangers newsletter.

In my own time, when I'm not travelling or playing games, I write short stories, and you can find some examples in Best Of British Science Fiction 2018 and HG Wells Short Story Anthology: Time. Here's a fun one-page webcomic I wrote for top artist PJ Holden to draw.
