Greetings from the mountains of Western Montana!

Life is simpler, yet is some ways more difficult; slower paced, yet more meaningful and spontaneous; less structured yet somehow more productive. You see, life changed about a decade ago when my career as a fortune 500 executive came to an earlier than expected end in a management restructure. In hindsight, that jolt and the subsequent family decision not to continue to pursue life in Corporate America was probably the best career decision of my life.

I have learned that life focused on family, rather than position, is not only possible but much more rewarding. Being home, even with the struggles of owning an operating a small business, is vastly more meaningful than all the milestone achievements and accolades of corporate life.

Yes, I am thankful for the opportunities and experience of the corporate world, but to be honest, had I known then what I know now, I probably would have left years earlier!
