Overview

Lighting up screens with 35 years experience in broadcast journalism and video production, I've enjoyed serving as a producer, director, writer, cameraman, and editor for the PBS NewsHour and 3 CBS affiliates on news, medical, investigative, and documentary projects, as well as dozens of cable, corporate and non-broadcast productions. With a lifelong commitment to objective storytelling through the best filming and editing practices, my mantra is content, creativity, and execution.

Travel

Challenging stories in developing countries have been some of my most interesting experiences. I've had the good fortune to work in and visit 27 countries, 10 states of Mexico, Canada coast-to-coast, and all 50 states.

Awards

Thanks to the judges of the EMMY awards for honoring my work in 2007 & 2010; other accolades include First Place documentary from the National Press Photographer's Association, the Columbia-DuPont Silver Baton, 2 Cine Golden Eagles, and more.

Energy, Sustainability, & Climate Issues

Since 1997 I've been committed to fostering renewable energy and sustainable practices, contributing to the advocacy efforts of the Colorado Renewable Energy Society, the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association, and leading the Association for the Study of Peak Oil - USA. Please visit my Sustainable Media YouTube site to see videos about solar, wind, and biomass technologies that mitigate climate change, and Oil Education TV on YouTube for 75 peak oil videos.

Arts & Culture

Holding two degrees in Fine Arts and Design, I've also been a life-long still photographer, currently compiling a gallery-quality show of my images. And I've enjoyed producing, directing, filming, and editing a number of shows for Rocky Mt. PBS about the visual and performing arts - see links.
