As I write this, I am 28 years old and I live in Barons Court, London. I grew up in nearby Walton-on-Thames, Surrey but have spent several years away from the "Big Smoke" as you will find out if you read on...
Education & Work: I studied Computer Science at the University of East Anglia in Norwich; graduating in 2003 with a 2:1 and a vast amount of knowledge that I would never go on to use in the real world. I moved back to London and soon got a job for the UK development team at Kelkoo (shortly to become Yahoo! Shopping). A year later, I moved to New York City to undertake a 12 month placement with CitiGroup followed by 6 months off to travel around the globe. When I returned to the UK, I worked for a startup called Auctioning4U as a PHP developer until I decided to go freelance in April 2007. Since then I have worked on the development of over a hundred websites of varying complexity. In late 2009, I formed my own company, doosra, which you can read more about here.
Outside of work: Even when I'm not working, I still love to indulge in a bit of geekery and keep up to date with the latest web technologies. Aside from generic interests such as music, film, travelling etc, I am a season ticket holder at the Arsenal in the cold and wet winter months, and enjoy watching cricket of all levels and form during the cold and wet summer ones. I try to go on at least one ski holiday every year and I've also been known to run on occasions – once I ran for 13 miles in Bath.
