David Hofstedter

I’m a Jewish Canadian real estate executive, author, and philanthropist based in Toronto. For many years, my professional life has focused on two areas: property management and development, as well as educational leadership and philanthropy in the Orthodox Jewish community.

I founded my real estate management company, Davpart Inc., in 1993. We started with three industrial properties. As President, I helped guide the company’s growth for over thirty years. Our current portfolio spans office, retail, industrial, and multi-residential assets in North America. Since our inception, we have focused primarily on property acquisition and management, as well as urban redevelopment, including major mixed-use projects in downtown Toronto. We manage every stage of property investment, from initial asset identification to ongoing operational oversight.

In addition to my real estate business, I established Dirshu, a non-profit organization, in 1997. Dirshu offers structured study programs to promote organized study of foundational Jewish texts. What started as a local project in Toronto has grown into an international network spanning multiple continents. It has helped tens of thousands of participants.

As an author, I have published several scholarly books on Torah commentary, which have been featured on Amazon. I also speak with international leaders, educators, and public officials about leadership, religious freedom, and educational outreach. My work in business and philanthropy focuses on careful planning and leadership. My goal is to build institutions that will last for future generations.
