David Haigh is a British human rights lawyer, writer and broadcaster. A former deputy chief executive of one of the Gulf's largest Islamic banks and managing director of Leeds United, he was lured to Dubai in 2014, wrongfully detained for nearly two years, and has spent the decade since fighting for justice, for himself and for others. He co-founded the Free Latifa campaign, assisted the legal team of Princess Haya, and acts as human rights lawyer for Zeynab Javadli. In March 2025 every claim brought against him was dismissed by the English High Court and the DIFC courts in Dubai, an outcome recorded by The Times, which profiled him in Times Law in June 2026.
