David Iler
Austin, Texas-based independent massage therapist David Iler prepared for his career by completing an exhaustive, 700-hour massage therapy program at Everest College. He possesses certification from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork and belongs to the American Massage Therapy Association. Earlier in his career, David Iler performed sports, deep tissue, and Swedish massage, along with myofascial release, as a massage therapist at Myo Massage. Complementing his extensive experience in massage, he maintains an interest in associated therapeutic techniques, such as acupressure, acupuncture, and assisted isolated stretching.
In his current practice, David Iler utilizes sports massage, myofascial release, and structural integration to help runners and other athletes balance patterns of muscle compensation and avoid injury. He provides table massages at running events, as well as post-workout evaluations and massage. For athletes visiting his office in East Austin, David Iler conducts 60- and 90- minute sports massage sessions that advance the injury recovery process and help sustain structural integrity during training.
Involved in a number of fitness activities, Mr. Iler practices weight training, yoga, and Pilates. He enjoys cooking with organic ingredients, helping coach his stepdaughter’s soccer team, cycling, trail running, and other endurance sports. In 2001, he hiked the length of the Appalachian Trail, from Georgia to Maine, in six months and two days. He has also competed in the Boston Marathon three times.
