David Martí Pete

I am a full-time PhD student at the Dept. of Mathematics and Statistics of The Open Unviersity in Milton Keynes (UK). My research is about Dynamical Systems and, more precisely, Complex Dynamics (hence this colorful background). Previously I was a part-time lecturer at the Dept. de Matemàtica Aplicada i Anàlisi of the Universitat de Barcelona.

I love science and outreach. The last two years I have been the coordinator of a students seminar on mathematics (Seminari SIMBa) and one of the organizers of a joint conference with more than 60 talks done by PhD students on physics, chemistry and maths (JIPI BKC). I also collaborated with the Catalan museum of mathematics (MMACA).

I also enjoy teaching maths. In Barcelona I used to participate in several activities with high school students: one-day workshops and talks, mentoring high school projects, etc. When I moved to the UK I became a mentor for UK Mathematics Trust and a STEM Ambassador at STEMnet. I have done some masterclasses in local school together with other PhD students from my department.

In my free time I like traveling, learning new languages and taking pictures.
