David Mertz

David Mertz (born August 1962 ) is an Experienced Information Technologist. He has worked with some of the largest corporations in the world - Boeing and Lockheed, to the federal government - Navy, USCG and Amtrak, to the smallest manufactures. He's worked with industries from High Tech, Medical, Construction and Defense, to Diapers and Kitchen Utensils.

He lives in Bucks County Pennsylvania with his lovely wife Jackie, 3 children, 3 dogs, 4 cats and several fish

Early Life:

Mertz was raised in Pittsburgh PA, Graduated from Pennsylvania State University as a BSME and moved to Los Angeles and Orange County CA in 1985 to work on the U.S. Space Station and Space Shuttle. He was responsible for the cargo layout within the Space Shuttle Orbiter cargo bay. He was also responsible for the first docking studies between the U.S. Space Shuttle and the Russian Space Station MIR, modeling the MIR Station 3D model from the minimal news sources. One of his designs became part of the tunnel that went between the Space Shuttle and the MIR when they finally docked.

Business:

After many years in the LA area, David returned back east to Philadelphia where he has worked as a IT consultant. His passion is for making business work better through information technology and improved processes.

He is currently in a transition in life as he looks for new opportunities within the Philadelphia, Bucks County area.

Personal:

Mertz is a avid golfer, skier, basketball player.

Mertz is a former Vice President and Head Coach of the Penn State Water Polo team as well as a 4 year player. He has coached his children's Little League Baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer teams. His Senior Little League team from Holland brought the first region championship to Holland Baseball, which allowed them to participate in the Pennsylvania State Championship.
